Nissan Qashqai

The 2017 Nissan Qashqai Is Now Here!

It’s no stranger to Europe, where it’s enjoyed success for almost a decade now, and this year the CUV comes to North American families. The 2017 Nissan Qashqai—pronounced ‘cash-kai’—crossover SUV is known as being “street savvy and up for anything.” Thanks to intelligent technologies and a streamlined design, we expect the Qashqai to be just that. Let’s take a closer look:

Where it Fits

This SUV is a smaller crossover one, a small CUV, with an appeal to smaller families or even just couples looking for a vehicle with versatility and cargo space for both inner and outer city life. In terms of size, the Qashqai is right between the Nissan Juke and the Rogue, making for a more versatile CUV. You’re looking at 648 litres of cargo capacity or a maximum of 1,730 litres with the second-row seats folded.

Power, Handling

You’ll find Nissan’s standard 2.0-litre DOHC, four-cylinder, direct-injection engine under the hood, putting out a respectable 141 horsepower and 147 pound-feet of torque. The 6-speed transmission comes standard, or you can opt for the available Xtronic transmission with the Sport-Mode Shifter. And it wouldn’t be a true CUV without the choice between either front- or all-wheel drive.

Your new Qashqai comes in 3 trim levels, the S, SV, and SL. It’s also available in 10 colours including Monarch Orange, Caspian Blue, and a vibrant Palatial Red.

The Qashqai is built to be nimble in the city with clean lines, a V-Motion grille, and an urban-looking interior. You can expect 16-inch wheels in the first two trims, and 19 with the top-level SL trim.

You can also expect very smilar features to those of the Rogue. Things like Siri Eyes Free, NissanConnect with navigation, Intelligent Cruise Control, and the Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection are available. As for options, leather seating, heated seats, and a remote starter are all options.
